Engergy-Starved Guangdong Provided with Adequate ElectricityChina will add 10 million kilowatts of electricity generating capacity from its resource-rich southwestern part to energy-starved Guangdong Province in the upcoming five years.According to the state plan, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Yunnan and Guizhou provinces will provide Guangdong Province with 5.8 million kilowatts by 2003 and 10 million kilowatts by 2005, Qu Shu, deputy general manager of the South China Company of the State Power Corporation, at a press briefing here today. In 1993, Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi and Guangzhou formed the country's largest power grid, which has a combined installed electrical capacity of 50 million kilowatts.
