Greek Air Force Fighter Crashes

A Greek Air Force fighter plane crashed Wednesday in the southern part of Peleponnessos Peninsula while on a routine training flight.

The A-7 Corsair, which took off from the air force base at Suda, Crete, crashed in the area between Tainaros Mountain and Cape Tainaros, and the pilot escaped unhurt.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

In the past decades, at least 45 military jet fighters have crashed in Greece.
