Europe's Leading Machine Tool Maker Targets China Market
The Germany-based machine tool producer, Gildemeister, is looking for new cooperation projects to further tap China's market potential.
A senior executive with Gildemeister said at the ongoing 2000 China International Metal Processing Industry Show, which opened here today, that China is likely to become Gildemeister's largest investment destination in Asia.
China is one of the largest machine tool markets in the world, however, it has lagged far behind the international advanced level.
Gildemeister, with total global sales topping 1.1 billion German marks last year including 40 million German marks from the Chinese market, has four representative offices and display centers in China. It has also invested five million German marks to found a company in the country.
Beside Gildemeister, more than 120 companies from 15 countries have brought their latest technology and products to the exhibition.
