DPRK Warns Against US Invading Airspace

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) warned the United States that it will exercise its ''right of self-defense'' if American military planes invade its airspace again, its official media said Sunday.

Two U.S. military jets intruded into the North's airspace during military exercises two days earlier.

The North will ''closely watch the future movement of the U.S. military,'' unidentified military officials said at a border meeting with U.S. military officials.

"If the U.S. forces' side commits another military provocation ... the People's Army will have no option but to exercise the right of self-defense against the provocateurs," the DPRK officials said in remarks carried by the Korean Central News Agency, the North's overseas news outlet.

The intrusion came a day after Secretary of State Madeleine Albright ended a historic two-day visit to DPRK to improve ties.
