UNDP Supports China's Promotion Towards Modern Logistics

Kerstin Leitner, United Nations Resident Coordinator & United Nations Development Program resident representative in China, attended the opening ceremony of the International Conference on Modern Logistics and E-commerce Sunday morning and delivered a speech.

More than 500 representatives from different branches of government, logistic and IT companies around the world, as well as from research institutes will talk about, over the next two days, how to live up to the requirements of the Information Age, how to break the logistics bottleneck and how to advance economic growth, which are of great concern to the government and to many businesses.

Leitner said, UNDP will provide strategic policy suggestions for China and other developing countries for them to promote modern logistics and e-commerce.

The conference, organized by the State Administration of Internal Trade and sponsored by United Nations Development Program, demonstrates the great importance attached to the modern logistics and e-commerce development by both Chinese government and the international organization.
