Eighth Shanghai TV Festival ClosesThe Eighth Shanghai TV Festival ended October 29 with a total of 15 top awards presented.A Chinese documentary entitled "A Place Called Home" won the award of best humane documentary, while the British-made "Hokkaido-- Heaven on Earth" seized the title of best documentary in the nature category. Other prize winners include works from Russia, Israel, Canada, and France. Daniel Alfredson from Sweden won the best director prize and Martin Guyot the best screenwriter prize. Chen Jin from China and Lino Banfi from Italy respectively won the best actress and best actor prize. The seven-day festival has attracted about 1,487 film and TV organizations from 47 countries and regions worldwide. The Shanghai TV Festival, the first of its kind in Asia, has been held once every two years since 1986.
