Tibet Annuls Outdated Government Regulations

Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region will annul 35 outdated local government regulations and documents to pave the way for the country's strategy of developing western regions.

Yang Chuantang, vice-chairman of the Region, told a press conference Saturday that these regulations will be canceled as they do not suit the needs of new situation, especially the implementation of the strategy of western development and the mechanism of socialist market economy.

The regulations mainly concerned such aspects as market management and market entry, management of self-employed transportation business and policies on purchase of side-line produce, he said, adding that the cancellation of which will be conducive to further expanding areas of investment in Tibet and creating a sound legal environment for investors.
