Shanghai Exports More Machinery, Electronics Products

China's leading industrial and commercial city Shanghai exported 8.7 billion U.S. dollars worth of machinery and electronics products over the first three quarters of the year, an increase of 42.8 percent on a yearly basis.

Local experts predict that the city's exports of machinery and electronics products is likely to reach a record high of 12 billion U.S. dollars for the year.

Major export commodities include integrated circuits, mobile phones, video players and automobile parts.

State-owned enterprises witnessed surging exports of 55.8 percent more than the same period last year to top 2.13 billion U.S. dollars during the period.

Overseas-funded businesses also contributed more to growing exports of machinery and electronics products, with their export volume reaching 6.5 billion U.S. dollars, up 38.6 percent.
