China, Mongolia Expect to Strengthen Relations

Wei Jianxing, a senior official of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC), expressed hope Saturday in Ulan Bator that China and Mongolia will make concerted efforts to continue developing long-term, stable and neighborly relations based on mutual trust.

Wei, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Central Committee Secretariat, made the remark while meeting Nambaryn Enkhbayar, Mongolia's prime minister and chairman of the ruling People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP).

Frequent high-level visits between the two countries have further enhanced mutual understanding and trust between their statesmen and peoples, and promoted the development of all-round bilateral relations, Wei said.

Wei congratulated the MPRP on its return to power and expressed appreciation for the MPRP's dedication to promoting Chinese-Mongolian relations.

Wei and Enkhbayar said that the two ruling parties have maintained long-term friendly relationship and increased mutual understanding.

China has become the biggest investor in Mongolia, Enkhbayar said, adding that the Mongolian government is grateful to China for its support and aid.

Wei arrived here Saturday morning after a visit to Finland.
