Ukraine to Present Promising Projects at Air Show China-200

Ukraine will present a number of promising projects during Air Show China-2000 to be held in China's southern coastal city of Zhuhai on November 6-12, Andrei Sovenko, head of the press service of the Antonov aircraft design and manufacture bureau, said Friday.

"Ukraine is going to offer the Chinese side cooperation in the program for retrofitting China's Y-5 plane," he said, suggesting that the two sides hold talks to seek cooperation opportunities.

Among the proposals to be put forward to the Chinese side, Sovenko also named cooperation in the project for creation of a new regional 60-70-seater passenger plane that would meet demands both in China and Ukraine.

"The new medium-range transport aircraft An-70 will be the best offer in regard to China's demand for new military and transport aircraft," he said.

He said that the Antonov aircraft design and manufacture bureau will send three planes -- An-70, An-124 and An-140 -- to take part in the air show.
