Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province in southwest China, is considering opening its service trade to foreign investors in an all-round way, according to sources with the local government.

The city encourages foreign banks to open sub-branches and set up insurance agencies in Chengdu, said an official with the city economic and foreign trade commission.

Overseas investors are allowed to establish travel services, retail and wholesale centers and educational institutions with local partners.
