Late Chinese Writer and Artist Remembered
A forum was held Thursday to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Xia Yan (1900-1995), the late outstanding revolutionary writer and artist of China.
At the forum, Vice-Premier
Li Lanqing
spoke highly of Xia and encouraged people in literary and art circles to inherit and carry out Xia's creative spirit and noble character, and contribute to the development and prosperity of socialist culture with Chinese characteristics.
More than 200 people were present at the forum.
