Military Leader Meets CPV Veterans in Border City
Chi Haotian, a vice chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and Defense Minister, Thursday visited Dandong City, in northeast China's Liaoning Province, after his official visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Chi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and a state councilor, visited veterans of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) in the border city, on behalf of the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and the CMC.

Chi also paid a visit to a local memorial hall on the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea and tombs of Chinese martyrs who died in the war.

In his talks with the CPV veterans, Chi hailed the decision on the detaching of the Chinese volunteer troops by the CPC Central Committee and Mao Zedong, at the invitation of the Workers' Party of Korea and Kim Il Song, and the spirit of the Chinese people in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.
