China's Insurance Sector Adopts Vocational Training System

Twenty Chinese insurance students had the first lecture Wednesdday in their two-year vocational training in Shanghai, the top industrial and commercial center of China.

This is the first batch of insurance students in China to receive education under the vocational system, which consists of half-time study and half-time practice in enterprises.

The students are attending the Vocational Insurance Training of Allianz sponsored by the Allianz Group of Germany, the German Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung and the Shanghai Electronic Industry School.

The students will first receive one-year of education on basic insurance theory in the school, and spend another year in practice in the Allianz Dazhong Life Insurance Co. Ltd, a joint-venture in Shanghai.

After the training ends, the qualified students will receive diplomas and will be employed by Allianz Dazhong.

The School introduced the training system in 1985 and has established cooperative relationship with over 100 German-funded enterprises in China.
