Hospital Fire in Beijing Kills Three People
A fire which broke out in the Peking Union Medical College Hospital Thursday morning killed three people and seriously injured six.
The blaze began in a basement of the hospital, which was being renovated by nine workers. The workers, who were initially trapped inside the basement, were rescued, but three died later from serious burns while the other six are now out of critical condition, according to a spokesman for the Beijing Public Security Bureau.
He said that 24 fire-engines were sent to the hospital immediately after the fire and by 10^The cause of the fire is under investigation.
