Army Commemorating Volunteers in Korean War
The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and the Chinese People's Armed Police (PAP) have been engaged in activities for the 50th anniversary of the detaching of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) to Korea.
The PLA and PAP units have been organized to study a speech by Jiang Zemin, chairman of the Central Military Commission, at a grand gathering in Beijing to commemorate CPV's patriotism and revolutionary heroism in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.
Many of the servicemen pledged to learn from CPV and carry out the historic mission of the reunification of the motherland, according to military sources.
The memorial programs include discussions with CPV veterans, art performances, and calligraphy and painting shows with exhibits from CPV veterans.
