Beijing Head Meets Micro-electronic Professionals

Jia Qinglin, secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met Thursday with delegates who attended an international seminar on micro-electronics held in Beijing.

Jia said micro-electronics, a key industry of Beijing, has witnessed sound growth over the past few years. He believed that experts and scholars from home and abroad will help promote the development of micro-electronics in Beijing with their valuable advice offered at the seminar.

He said Beijing is willing to learn from and cooperate with home and overseas businesses and organizations in order to enhance the growth of the micro-electronic industry.

Yu Huanian, chairman of the advisory body to a Taiwan-based industrial research institute, said that enterprises in Taiwan wished to strengthen exchanges with Beijing and cooperate with Beijing in the field of micro-electronics.

Wu Jichuan, minister of the Information Industry, and Beijing mayor Liu Qi presented at the meeting.
