East China Province Lures Overseas Talent

East China's Fujian Province, one of the country's economic powerhouses, now opens nearly 1,000 positions to overseas talent, especially Chinese students studying abroad.

The coastal province has decided to dispatch a special recruiting group to a talent fair to be held in Washington, the United States, on November 3.

The group will also hold recruiting activities in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Lu Zhihua, director of the provincial government's personnel department, said that his province is in need of professionals in areas like information technology, finance, law and management.

Since 1982, Fujian has introduced more than 30,000 talented people, including some 3,000 Chinese returning from their studies in foreign countries.

The province issued a series of preferential policies in May to draw more talent from abroad.
