Russian Divers Raise Fourth Body From KurskRussian divers have raised a fourth body from the ill-fated Kursk submarine which had 118 sailors aboard, but postponed the recovery work due to the harsh Arctic weather, commander of the Northern fleet Admiral Vyacheslav Popov told ITAR-TASS early Thursday. The fourth corpse was found overnight during a search of the eighth and ninth compartments of the nuclear submarine which is lying at a depth of 108 metres (355 feet) at the bottom of the Barents Sea, Popov told the news agency. The body was lifted to the Regalia diving platform in a special container, he added. On Wednesday the divers recovered the bodies of three of the 118 sailors who perished in the Kursk submarine disaster. Popov said the recovery operation had been temporary halted because of deteriorating weather conditions and strong waves which threatened the safety of the deep-sea divers.
