Chinese Diving and Water Ballet Teams to Make Performance Tour

The Chinese diving and water ballet teams will start on their way to make a performance tour in China to acknowledge wide popular support they have received during the Sydney Olympic days. The two teams are known to have won 5 golds along with 5 silvers and rank world seventh respectively during the Sydney Olympics.

Gong Li, vice-director of Chinese Swimming Sports Management Center, said the Chinese diving and water ballet teams couldn't have won such good results when should national support have been excluded. So the idea to make a performance tour by the Olympians to express their gratitude for all the aid they have been given and to attend to the task to popularize Olympics in China.

The Chinese diving and water ballet teams will arrive at Hangzhou October 25, Huizhou, Guangdong Province October 26, Hongkong October 28, Macao October 31, then turn back to Zhuhai November 3, and finally alight at terminus Wuhai on November 5. Eight Olympians of the diving team back from the Sydney Olympics and all athletes of the Chinese water ballet team will show off their skills on the performance tour.

The performance tour is financially backed by Guangzhou Taiyangshen Co. Ltd., which has helped in spreading Olympics by organizing many performance tours in China and to Hongkong since 1992.
