New Sino-Czech Aircraft Makes Maiden Flight

The first light-duty aircraft co-produced by China and the Czech Republic successively made its maiden flight in Guiyang, capital of southwest China's Guizhou Province Tuesday.
The aircraft, named EV-97, weighs 275 kg and flies at an maximum speed of 235 km per hour. It was designed by an aircraft design and manufacturing company from the Czech Republic and assembled in Guizhou.
Costing 700,000 yuan to purchase, the aircraft is suitable for flight training, recreation and aerophotography. It will make a demonstration flight at the 2000 China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition to be held in November in Zhuhai.
