Chinese Vice Premier Wen Jiabao met with a delegation of the General People's Congress (GPC) of Libya Tuesday.

The delegation, headed by Suleiman S. Shahoumi, foreign affairs secretary of the GPC, arrived on Monday at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Wen spoke highly of the Sino-Libyan friendly relations. He said the CPC is ready to heighten their relationship with the GPC to promote Sino-Libyan ties on the basis of the four principles for party-to-party relations.

The four principles are: independence, equality, mutual respect, and non-inteference in each other's internal affairs.
