China Opens Class for Officials of Latin American and South Pacific Countries

A course sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) for economic management officials from Latin American and South Pacific countries began Monday.

Senior MOFTEC officials, together with Bolivian and Uruguayan diplomats to China attended the opening ceremony.

Twenty-five economic management officials from 15 Latin American and South Pacific Countries will take the 40-day course.

These officials will exchange views with MOFTEC officials and economic experts, discussing new channels and areas for trade and economic cooperation. They will travel to Guangdong Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to conduct an investigation.

Such a course, initiated by China for economic management officials from the two regions, will further enhance trade and economic cooperation between China and Latin America and the South Pacific region.
