Japan Welcomes Albright's Pyongyang VisitThe Japanese government on Monday welcomed a visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) by U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, and expressed the hope that the visit will have a good effect on Japan's talks on normalizing ties with the DPRK."We welcome the continuation of positive developments" between the U.S. and the DPRK, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Hidenao Nakagawa told a press conference. Tokyo and Pyongyang are scheduled to hold their next round of negotiations on normalizing diplomatic ties later this month in Beijing.
