Bank Increases Loans to Western China
The State Development Bank (SDB) of China will increase loans to western China by 140 billion yuan over the next five years, SDB Governor Chen Yuan said.
He told the 2000 Western Forum of China that concluded Sunday in Chengdu that the SDB has already given 140 billion yuan worth of loans to the western part of China over the past few years.
Chen emphasized that economic returns will be the focal point of providing the loans. He said that western China should develop a finance and investment system that is compatible with international practices.
