Western Region to Enjoy Foreign Trade Support from Central GovernmentThe Chinese government has agreed to establish a foundation to promote the development of foreign trade in the western regions, which will mainly be used to train personnel and provide trade information, a senior Chinese official said Saturday in Chengdu.It is among measures to promote foreign trade in the west, which has lagged far behind developed eastern regions of the country. The central government is also establishing new mechanisms for foreign trade in the west regions, Sun Zhenyu, vice minister of foreign trade and economic cooperation, said at the ongoing Western Forum of China Saturday. He also promised that more and better information services, and more international aid programs will be provided for the western regions in a bid to promote foreign trade. |
