Africa-China Cooperation Strong: Zambian President

Zambian President Frederick Chiluba Saturday hailed the cooperation between China and Zambia, and Africa at large, as a very strong one.

Upon arrival at Lusaka International Airport after his 11-day visit to China, Chiluba said China is a very good friend of Africa and it has been assisting African countries before, during and after their independence.

As a fast growing political, economic and military power, China is venturing into a long-term partnership with African countries instead of just offering aid and loans, he said.

During his visit, Chiluba attended the opening ceremony of the first ever China-Africa Cooperation Forum held in Beijing during October 10-12. He also met with top Chinese leaders and visited six cities including Beijing and Shanghai.
