French President Kicks off China Tour

French President Jacques Rene Chirac arrived in Yangzhou via Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, for a visit to China as guest of Chinese President Jiang Zemin,.

Jiang will meet with Chirac here later today.

Yangzhou, a scenic city in east China's Jiangsu Province, is the hometown of Jiang.

Chirac came to China after attending the third Asia-Europe Meeting held in Seoul, capital of the Republic of Korea.
