Beijing Government Hosts Reception to Welcome Russian Guests
Beijing Municipal People's Government hosted a reception Friday welcoming the Chinese and Russian representatives attending the Sino-Russian Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development for their third plenary session.
Beijing Mayor Liu Qi said Beijing is willing to develop exchanges with Russia in the fields of information industry, new materials, medical care and environmental protection.
He stressed that Beijing is bidding to host the Olympic Games for the second time, and he hopes that their Russian friends will give their support in this regard. He welcomes Russia to participate in Beijing's construction and development.
A Russian senior official said that Beijing, along with the rest of the country, has made great achievements in economic development. He voiced his hope that China will continue to make progress in building their economy. He said that Russia will support Beijing's bid to host the Olympic Games.
