Seminar on Ecological Economic Construction Opens
A national seminar on ecological economic construction and the Fifth Session of the China Ecological Economy Association opened Friday in Nanchang, capital of southeast China's Jiangxi Province.
Jiang Chunyun, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of National People's Congress, sent a congratulatory letter to the seminar.
The seminar attracted some 200 scholars from all over the country, who presented some 80 papers on sustainable development and ecological construction.
Some 20 years ago, Xu Dixin, a famous economist, founded the science of ecological economy in China and the science has since played an increasingly important role in building the economy.
So far, there are a number of villages or townships that make arduous efforts in ecological construction across the country, which earns the appreciation from some international organizations including the United Nations.
