Two More Golds for Chinese at Paralympic Games in SydneyChinese athlete Zhang Hongwei and swimmer Tian Hengheng added two more gold medals to China's credit at the Paralympic Games Friday in Sydney.Making his Paralympic debut here, Zhang won the men's long jump SM5 event with a distance of 7.03 meters, which improved his own world record of 6.89m he set in August of last year in Duderstadt, Germany. The 29-year-old from northeast China's Liaoning Province won two golds at the 1998 IPC world championships. Chinese swimmer Tian Hengheng won the men's 200m individual medley SM8 event in a new world record time of two minutes 38.11 seconds. Turning 16 in December this year, Tian is from southwestern China's Yunnan Province. He won the 50m and 100m freestyle titles at the National Games for the Disabled earlier this year in Shanghai. |
