Business Circles of China's Mainland, HK, Taiwan Strengthen Cooperation

A workshop on economic and trade cooperation among China's mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan closed Thursday in Beijing.

The participants in the meeting shared the opinion that the business circles in the mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong should strengthen cooperation after China's entry to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The meeting, the sixth of its kind, was co-sponsored by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) and their counterparts from Taiwan and Hong Kong.

During the two-day meeting, participants held discussions on the impact of China's WTO entry on business relations between the three sides, and sought ways to deal with the consequences.

Jing Shuping, chairman of the ACFIC, urged participants to join hands in seizing opportunities and meeting challenges after admission to WTO and develop the economy by enhancing cooperation.

Leaders of the federations of industries from Taiwan and Hong Kong also expressed the same hope to contribute to faster economic development of the three sides.
