Telecom Giant Trusts in "China-Made" BrandZhongwang Commercial Machinery Co. Ltd. and the YOUNGTECH£¬INC. of the United States recently signed an AT&T software external contract cooperation agreement in Guangzhou.Yang Hongnan, president of YOUNGTECH, and Meng Lin, general manager of Zhongwang Commercial Machinery Co. Ltd., signed the agreement on behalf of both sides. Mayor of Guangzhou and other leaders as well as representatives of domestic and foreign telecom-related enterprises including Dr. Li Ruiru, vice-president of AT&T, attended the signing ceremony. AT&T is the largest communication business in the United States. It plans to realize the localization of sophisticated communication, internet technology and products as well as the network management system (i.e. the external contract of the above items) through technological cooperation with some Chinese IT enterprises, so as to introduce the advanced international technology to the Chinese market. YOUNGTECH, INC. is the specialized institution designated by AT&T to seek software external contract cooperative partners in China for AT&T. With the concern and support of the Guangzhou city government, AT&T and YOUNGTECH have since last year made several trips to Guangzhou to inspect a number of hi-tech software enterprises. After repeated screenings, Zhongwang finally became the first cooperative partner of the AT&T involved in the software external contract. This brand-new attempt, made by the Guangzhou software enterprise to enter into high-level technological cooperation with a world-famous hi-tech firm in the software field, will play an exemplary role in the internationalization of Guangzhou's high and new technological industry. Zhongwang, a hi-tech enterprise which has arisen rapidly in recent years, is engaged mainly in developing system integration centered on the independent development of software. Since its founding in 1992, the company has boosted its output value to grow at an average annual rate of 83 percent. In recent years, the company has undertaken altogether seven projects involved in the National 863 Program (the 1986 March Program), the National Torch Program and the National Innovation Program. It was recently listed as one in the second batch of the National 863 Program industrialization bases by the Ministry of Science and Technology. Zhongwang's success in signing the AT£¦T software external contract demonstrates that it has had the qualifications to undertake large, international software projects in terms of technology, talents and management.
