China Unicom Licensed in Hong Kong to Provide Fixed Network Telecom Services
China Unicom (Hong Kong) Group announced Wednesday that its China United Telecommunications Corp., the wholly owned subsidiary, is as from now on granted, by Hong Kong Telecom Bureau, license to provide overseas with fixed network telecom services.
This makes China Unicom the only telecom provider in China, which can not only offer overseas telecom service in Hong Kong, but also has the right to conduct international telecom business in China's mainland.
A person in charge of China Unicom (Hong Kong) Group said that the company has already linked Hong Kong and China's mainland up with communication lines, which will bring its massive telecom businesses to Hong Kong and the world from China's mainland, and in the meanwhile, the other way round.
Registered in Hong Kong, China Unicom (Hong Kong) Group is a shareholding company of the China Unicom Ltd.
