Italy Expects More Environmental Cooperation with China: Minister

Italian Environment Minister Willer Bordon said Wednesday in Hangzhou that Italy expects more opportunities to cooperate with China in environmental protection, as the Chinese government attaches growing importance to this area.

The minister made the remarks at a ceremony to unveil Zhejiang Sino-Italian Photovolatic Co., Ltd. in Ningbo, a coastal city in east China's Zhejiang Province.

With an investment of 3.8 million U.S. dollars in the initial stage, the joint venture is expected to help build Ningbo into China's largest polycrystalline silicon solar battery producer.

Some 75 percent of the company's products will be exported.
