The Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), a national advisory body, Wednesday concluded its session on proposals on the country's next five-year economic and social development plan.

At the session, the Standing Committee put forward a number of important suggestions and views on the proposals made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on formulating China's 10th five-year (2001-2000) national economic and social development plan.

In a concluding speech at today's session, Ye Xuanping, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, said that the Standing Committee fully agrees on the proposal.

Among those present at the session were Li Ruihuan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.

The session also passed resolution on removing Wu Wenying as member of the CPPCC National Committee, member of the Standing Committee, and vice chairman of the Subcommittee for Handling Proposals of the National Committee.
