Beijing's Starred Hotels Total 392

The local tourism administration recently added 123 hotels in Beijing to the list of starred hotels, increasing the total number of the city's starred hotels to 392.

According to the Beijing Municipal Tourism Administration, among the 392 hotels 20 are five-star, 34 are four-star, 126 are three-star, 168 are two-star and 44 are one-star hotels.

Beijing now has more than 4,800 hotels and guest houses of all kinds, the Administration said.

As the capital of China, Beijing attracts the highest number of tourists in China, attracting millions of visitors from across the country and all over the world.

Beijing will host the 2001 University Games and is currently bidding for the 2008 Olympic Games. Experts say that the increase in the number of starred hotels will make Beijing more suitable to host the Olympic Games in 2008.
