Air-Raid Sirens to Ring in Guangzhou

Air-raid sirens will ring on a trial basis in ten urban districts of Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, on October 29.

The move is designed to commemorate the fourth anniversary of promulgation of the Air Defense Law of China and to test air-raid sirens in this southern Chinese city.

According to local sources, the air-raid sirens will ring in Yuexiu, Dongshan, Liwan, Haizhu, Tianhe, Huangpu, Fangcun, Baiyun, Panyu and Huadu districts at 11:00 hours sharp in the morning of October 29 and last about 15 minutes.

When the air raid sirens are sounded, production, life, and social activities will be carried out as usual.
