China to Receive 78 Mln Overseas Tourists This Year

The tourism industry has become a new growth point in China's economy.

That's according to the National Tourism Administration.

Latest figures show that between January and August this year, the number of overseas tourists hit 55 million, a 16.5 percent increase on last year.

Tourism earnings also increased nearly 19 percent, to 10.8 billion US dollars.

This year, China is expected to receive a total of 78 million overseas tourists, and earn 15.5 billion US dollars from them.
