First No-power Consuming Electronic Book Comes to Appearance in Tianjin
As announced by Hou Zixin, President of Nankai University, the world's first no-power-consuming electronic book has made its appearance in Tianjin.

What is the "electronic book"? Prof. Li Qingcheng, person in charge of the research said that it is in fact a special computer of an ample display capacity with a reading interface looking very much like a book. Thoroughly replacing the traditional paper book, it has a humanized interface for reading, which is easy to be operated and carried along with.

Jointly developed by Tianjin Jinke Electronics Company and American ADS company, the "book" has adopted the "multi-stable LCD" as its display screen, which is invented by Dr. Wu Baogang, a Chinese scientist. It won't consume electricity when you are reading, and does only when you are turning over the pages.

The "book" has solved the problem of vision tiredness, which is easily to occur when reading by the traditional screen. As the screen adopts the technology of full reflection display, you can view the contents clearly on the screen even when you are reading under the sunshine.

With the size of 32 mo, the "book" is framed like a book. As reported it can store 3 million Chinese characters, and can easily download and upload books from Internet. Weighing less than 700 grams the book only needs two AA batteries to make it run.
