Arafat, Barak Agree to Ceasefire
US President Bill Clinton announced Tuesday a breakthrough at the Mideast summit with Palestinian and Israeli leaders agreeing on a ceasefire.

In the presidential statement announced at the closing session, Israel and Palestinians agreed to end confrontations and prevent repetition of such incident, form a fact-finding committee and restore peace to the level before the eruption of the violence on September 28.

At the same time, Israel agreed to lift siege on Palestinian territories, Israeli troops redeployment and the re-opening of Gaza airport.
