Qinghai Has High Proportion of Ethnic Officials
Statistics show that ethnic officials make up a large proportion of the total number officials in
Qinghai
Province, northwest China.
At present, 75 percent of Party and government officials in the province's six autonomous prefectures are from ethnic groups, while 64.3 percent of officials in the province's seven autonomous counties also come from various ethnic groups.
Ethnic groups account for 42 percent of the province's total population.
The province attaches great importance to improving the performance of ethnic officials. A great number of them have been sent to study at training programs held in China's interior areas or have been sent to study overseas.
