Man to Build Moon City in 2020: Chinese Scientists
A leading Chinese scientist predicted that human beings will build their first moon city in the year 2020.
Ouyang Ziyuan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that by 2005 there will be air-tight cabins, power stations and other life necessities located on the moon, with permanent residents there by 2010.
Ouyang predicts that around 2015 people will build a mini base on the satellite and in 2020 they will establish a moon village or even a town.
Ouyang's statements came after China announced this month that the country will participate in moon and mars exploration in the near future.
Ouyang noted that the moon city should be a "global village" for all human beings.
