China Ensures Quality of Syringes
China will strengthen control of production of needles and syringes to ensure the safety and quality of the medical products.
The State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision (SBQTS) and the State Drug Administration (SDA) recently conducted a joint on-spot check of 64 manufacturers of needles and syringes in 15 provinces and municipalities across China.
The survey showed that 85.5 percent of examined products met the state quality standard. The needles and syringes produced by enterprises with national production licenses were of high quality.
At present, China's output volume of needles and syringes is the highest in the world, and the export of needles has kept increasing in recent years.
The enterprises that failed to pass the quality examination will be punished by the SDA, and they are urged by the SBQTS to improve the product quality.
At the same time, China will strengthen supervision of the market of medical instruments and fight the illegal production of shoddy needles and syringes.
