2001 HK International Marathon to be Held Next February

The 2001 Hong Kong international marathon, one of Asia's premier sporting events, will be staged on February 4th next year, said the tournament organizers Monday.

The Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association said there would be over ten thousand participants running in full-marathon, half-marathon and 10 km race.

The tournament, which had different waterfront starts in the past, will begin at Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui and will showcase some of Hong Kong's most famous landmarks along the route next year and finish at the Golden Bauhinia Spuare.

Runners from Asia, Europe, Africa will be invited to enter the 64,000 US dollar event.
