Eighty Percent of China-Made Products Qualified: Survey

The latest spot check shows that 80.4 percent of China-made products met the state quality standard, announced the State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision Monday.

Among the 2,451 varieties of products examined during the third quarter this year, 1,971 are qualified, said an official from the bureau.

He said that the sample survey focused on commodities connected to people's daily life, chemical products, machinery component parts and fireworks.

Compared with the check in the second quarter, the qualification rate of mobile phones, anti-theft doors, electric ovens and food additives increased by 20 percentage points.

A total of 21 varieties of products including mobile phones, seamless steel tubes for high pressure boilers and modems were of excellent quality with the qualification rate exceeding 90 percent, according to the survey.

The survey also exposed a number of low-quality products, including conserved fruits, fluorescent lamps, hearing aids, agricultural machinery and construction materials.
