China to Build More Export High-Tech Industry Parks

China has planned to establish more export-oriented high-tech industry parks inside existing high-tech development zones to raise the country's export of high-tech commodities.

In an interview with Xinhua, Xu Fuxing, head of the science and technology division of China's trade ministry, said a number of high-tech development zones would be chosen to make experiments and gain experiences in this regard.

Incentive policies will be available for these high-tech parks to introduce advanced financing and investment mechanisms to promote the internationalization of China's high-tech industry, said Xu, who is here to attend the 88th China Export Commodities Fair.

He explained that upon China's accession into the World Trade Organization, export-oriented high-tech parks will make experiments on how Chinese enterprises could adapt themselves to the rules of international trade, while setting an example for the country's foreign trade companies and manufacturing enterprises.

High-tech commodities now make up 13 percent of China's exports.
