Jiang Sends Message to Sino-Vietnamese Youth Friendship Meeting
Chinese President Jiang Zemin Monday sent a congratulatory message to the ongoing Sino-Vietnamese Youth Friendship Meeting, extending his best wishes to the youth of the two nations.
Jiang, who is also general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), urged the young people in the two nations to inherit and carry forward the traditional friendship cultivated by leaders of older generations in the two countries.
Jiang encouraged the youth of the two sides to learn from each other, improve mutual understanding, develop cooperation and shoulder the heavy responsibility of pushing forward the good-neighborly and friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries in the coming 21st century.
Le Kha Phieu, general secretary of the Vietnamese Communist Party Central Committee, also sent a congratulatory letter to the meeting.
The friendship meeting and related activities take place from October 15 to 24.
