Tibet Trade Symposium Opens in HK
The 2000 Tibet Autonomous Region Investment, Economic and Trade Symposium opened in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Monday.
The symposium is aimed at making use of Hong Kong's position as an international trade and financial center to make the world know more about Tibet and establish good trade relations between Tibet and the rest of the world, according to Xu Mingyang, vice-chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Regional People's Government.
During the symposium, some 138 investment projects are on display, covering farming, animal husbandry, arts and crafts and traditional Tibet medicine.
The four-day symposium also features an exhibition of Tibetan antique and fashion shows of traditional Tibetan costumes.
