UN Convention on Economic Rights Awaits Approval by Chinese Legislature

The International Convention of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, one of the two UN human rights conventions already signed by the Chinese government, is to be tabled with the nation's top legislature for discussion and ratification.

The news comes from the Meeting of Chairman and Vice-Chairmen of the National People's Congress Standing Committee held Monday in Beijing.
